Forbidden Zone From Richard Elfman
Quote :
A mysterious door in the basement of the Hercules house leads to the Sixth Dimension by way of a gigantic set of intestine. When Frenchy slips through the door, King Fausto falls in love with her. The jealous Queen Doris takes Frenchy prisoner, and it is up to the Hercules family and friend Squeezit Henderson to rescue her
ha ha ha ha It starts like this....
"Friday, April 17" at 4 pm in Venice, California. Huckleberry P. Jones, local pimp, narcotics peddler, and slumlord, enters a vacant house that he owns. While stashing heroin in the basement, he stumbles upon a mysterious door, and enters it, falling into the Sixth Dimension, from which he promptly escapes. After retrieving the heroin, he sells the house to the Hercules family" The Hercules Family has a daughter, french and called "Frenchy". Frenchy one day decides to take a little pick at the door in the basement and falls into the forbidden zone
Soooo much fun!!! This is better than The Rocky Horror Picture Show imo Crazy, totally kitch and stupid but soo bad that it's good! Reallly lots of fun and very inspired! Note that Tim Burton says this movie was one of his inspiration. There are some resemblance to scenes from Pee Wee and Beetlejuice. The music was also made by Danny Elfman (the brother of the director) who actually also made the music of some Burton movies such as Beetlejuice, some moments in the movie you can recognise the style... It's in black and white but they recently made it in color, think B&W goes perfectly with the movie so you should watch it like this!
