Shark Attack 3 - David Worth (2002) Sharkattack3

Zeehond was so kind to lend me his copy of Shark Attack 3. Yesterday evening, I could no longer contain myself and watched it.

Quote :
A shark has been terrorizing the workers that were trying to install an underwater cable off the coast of Mexico, so a resort security diver, Ben (John Barrowman), decides to put a stop to the killing. He finds a fresh tooth of a creature that he thinks might be the culprit and sends it for identification to the researcher Cat Stone (Jennifer McShane). After careful examination, she realizes that this tooth does not belong to any shark of modern days, but is that of a prehistoric predator called Megalodon, a shark thought to be extinct for thousands of years. When several tourists end up mutilated along the coast, the marine biologists (paleontologists) are finally convinced that the Megalodon isn't extinct after all and sets out to take action against the deadliest of creatures.

There are some things that make a movie either bad or good. There's acting, cinematography, special effects and building up suspense or tension, to name just a few important ones.

The acting is crazy. Imagine a South African doing a Mexican accent and you've got the right line of thought. Add some mild overacting and completely unbelievable dialogs and you're about there Happy2
The cinematography actually has its moments, it's not really special, but most of the time, the shots look at least somewhat professional.
The special effects are the best part of the movie, at the beginning, they give the impression you're watching early nineties CGI, near the end of the film, the special effects have sunk FAR below an acceptable quality. Check out the trailer below and the best bits that follow it.
There's no tension at all, you think something's going to happen and about 30 seconds later, it turns out you're right! Awesome! Don't ever think again, if people can do it for you, right? Very Happy

All in all, this movie scores a 7.5/10 for style and a 2/10 for quality, just the way I like it! Happy2
