One word: frustration!
I really love the BBC serie from the 80's, I haven't read the book but I know the serie is very close to the book. But here, moua, I was mainly furstrated to see the development of the story and so many things missing. On top of that, the caracters dont have as much carisma, and it is far from been as funny, the drawing from the guide are just bullshit in my opinion. Visually, there are a few good things however but it is seriously lacking the fun of the original version

It's not a proper adaptation of the book, but the book's not a proper adaptation of the radio-play and if we're talking about the series, that's something altogether different again!

Douglas Adams just kept on writing and retelling the story as he saw fit, and didn't even remotely try to follow some sort of canon.

He even wrote the part of John Malkovich especially for this movie.

That said, I LOVE THIS MOVIE! Very Happy

As well as everything else Douglas Adams ever wrote.

By the way, if you ever decide to read the book (which I strongly suggest!), buy "The Ultimate Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy"-edition, it's the coolest one in my opinion.
