I just watched Death Proof (IMDB) for the first time Embarassed

Great movie! You've just gotta love the stylish use of "errors" in the cinematography and the especially the sound, like when the sync is so off, it looks like Stuntman Mike is saying Jungle Julia's lines and vice versa. The exploitation-like feel to it is great as well, giving credit to the genres used to get inspiration from, while enlarging their cheapness to very enjoyable greatness Smile

Planet Terror (IMDB) is up next, for sure!

It's a tribute to the grindhouse concept.
You get 2 very bad B-Movies for the price of 1.
That's why Death Proof and Planet Terror was shown in America as Grindhouse

Don't find this one really good, it's average imo. Saw this one in theater and was bored by a lot of the dialogues in the first hour after that it gets better but never succeeded to make up for the first part. Maybe I was expecting to much because i really like his previous movies.

I find planet terror much better, it's a pity they released them apart. Would have been nicer if they were both a little shorter and it was 1 movie.

It was meant to be 1 movie (or, at least, one double-feature programme...), but the distributors in the Netherlands decided they wanted to release them apart from each other...

I know it would have been one movie, I think it only was released in the us as grindhouse. It's not that they are too long but if they were a little shorter quality would have been higher I suppose. And definitely deathproof could be without some extra girl talk Razz

I've seen "death proof" and "planet terror" as they were supposed to be... a whole, interlaced by those hilarious fake trailers (thanksgiving!!! Razz

), and I must say it was magnificent!

deathproof is definately great, 8/10...

but my god, Planet Terror is a work of genious!!!! 9,5/10!!!

and the trailers 10/10!!! cheers
