It's fun to discover or rediscover some very old classic from the 50's sometimes. I mean, not too often cause often movies from the 50's make me veryyyy sleepy. I dont know what it is: maybe the lack of (or bad) soundtrack, maybe the way they speak, maybe the sound, anyway it works as sleeping pills for me Razz
I fighted however to keep my eyes open cause this is quite an interesting piece, for the time. Defenetly dated today but still nice: if you ignore the lame flirtation and cheesy romance, you get quite some good ideas and I can understand that at the time it was considered very good. The robot is fun Very Happy
But I prefered The Day the Earth Stood Still which has a better story imo yess

Ahh...Forbidden Planet...

Why didn't I write a review of this movie yet?

The whole 50s aspect doesn't bother me at all (gosh, now you guys must be REALLY surprised!).

The quality of the film is very good (especially for the time), with quite alright acting and nice visual effects.
The whole idea of a "teaching machine" was at the time really original I think, a whole different approach then the Invading Women from Some Random Planet in Our Solar System AND the Year 5000! movies that were being produced Happy2

7,8/10!
