Events over the course of one traumatic night in Paris unfold in reverse-chronological order as the beautiful Alex (Monica Bellucci) is brutally raped and beaten by a stranger in the underpass. Her boyfriend and ex-lover take matters into their own hands by hiring two criminals to help them find the rapist so that they can exact revenge. A simultaneously beautiful and terrible examination of the destructive nature of cause and effect, and how time destroys everything
Ok, I'm almost sure that some of you will say they hated it, some others will say they adored it. At least I have seen that a lot with topics where this movie was discussed. Well, I adore it, Gaspar Noe is one of my favorite director. I love the atmosphere, it's very dark but that's what I love with him, the acting is stunning with also 3 of my favorite actors and actress: Vincent Cassel (La Haine, Blueberry, Dobberman), his wife in life Monica Bellucci who plays with him in several movies (Dobberman, l'Appartement...) and albert dupontel who is simply amazing in this movie, espcially for a first dramatic play, he normally plays and direct comedies (Bernie, Le Créateur...)
This is defenetly not for all taste, some scenes (one in particular) are extremelly difficult to watch but the emotion this movie creates is unic. It moved me And it will remain probably for ever on my top 10 (there is no way it could ever go down )

I won't say I hated it, cause I didn't
I thought it was too dramatic at times, which didn't really help to keep me fully interested...but in my opinion, it's still an artfully crafted piece, which deserves a 7/10 from me...

really awesome movie
the use of steadycam longtakes + gritty atmospheres really made me naucious also heard that the sound engineer used certain frequenties on purpose to amplifiy the unpleasant feeling while watching (forgot the technical specs though)
one of my favourite movies, though i dont seem to really get his end phrase "Le Temps Detruits Tous" (Time Destroys Everything) i can understand it in several perspectives, but can't find out where he really was going with that
